5:00pm - 7:00pm

Celebrate the Holiday season at our first annual Holiday Cocktail Party at the Museum! The evening will be a rare chance to visit the Museum in December and a wonderful opportunity to spread good cheer among friends! Join us for a cozy gathering over drinks and hors d'oeuvre in the festively decorated Sage Parlor where Steve Shaugnessy will be playing jazz between a holiday set from local carolers. Sabina Streeter's "Captains, Mates, + Widows" will make its return for one night only as well. We can't think of a better way to close out the 2014 season than by celebrating our good fortune to live in such a vibrant, generous community. We look forward to a bright, happy, and successful New Year for us all.

The evening will also be an opportunity to take home a special Holiday whale ornament!

All proceeds go directly toward the Museum's Capital Campaign for restoration.

Help Restore Our North Porch

We had great success with our front porch campaign and have teamed up with GoodCircle again to raise funds for the repair and restoration of our north porch!

Click HERE to see how you can help.

We have two side porches on the north side of the building in need of restoration - the north side lobby entry steps and the north porch off of the front gallery. Both porches are highly visible and face Garden Street.

Our goal is to raise $12,220: $3,820 for the north lobby entrance facing Garden Street; and $8,400 for the north porch outside the gallery space over the next 60 days. That is based on a firm bid by the contractor and includes labor, materials, and fees.

We are currently looking for a sponsor for this project. If you're interested, this is a great way to be part of our vibrant community. Join Tom O'Donoghue Associates, Baron's Cove, The American Hotel and the many individuals who have generously donated in supporting our Museum. For more information email us at

To date, The American Hotel has generously offered to get the North Lobby steps started with a pledge of $1,000, and we have $215 left in our front porch fund. Now we need your help. By joining the cause your contribution will complete the project.

By joining our efforts your contribution will complete the project! Every pledge counts and every pledge helps us to move closer to our goal. As a thank you for your contribution we are offering rewards in every pledge category. The complete list can be viewed HERE.

Our Front Porch Has Been Restored

Thanks to our wonderful community of friends and with the help of Goodcircle, Tom O'Donoghue Associates, and Cape Resorts' Baron's Cove we've successfully raised funds for the repair and restoration of our grand front porch!

This project was to fund the restoration of the front porch, and to make it handicap accessible. The restoration included replicating the original porch railings, lost long ago.

We raised $24,750 which covered all costs including labor, material, and fees. Two very generous businesses stepped up to contribute more than half of the costs. Tom O'Donoghue Associates pledged $15,000, and Baron's Cove, part of Cape Resorts, pledged $5,000.

By joining our efforts, contributors helped complete the project! Every pledge counted and every pledge helped us to reach our goal. As a thank you, contributors received rewards in every pledge category. The complete list can be viewed HERE.

Restoration Project

We're very excited to announce that our restoration initiative has begun! After strict paint removal efforts, the Museum is currently being primed for paint application while our capital campaign continues. We want to thank our wonderful community of friends and family for supporting our restoration efforts! But we're not done yet! We're still fundraising to complete this project.

If you would like to donate to our ongoing campaign you may call us at 631.725.0770 or mail checks payable to: The Sag Harbor Whaling Museum and send them to P.O. Box 1327, Sag Harbor, NY 11963.
